Where in scripture does God reveal to us that purgatory is a thing? I don’t believe that is anywhere in scripture and the lack of scripture use in this makes that hard to believe.

Listen ok God gave Peter the keys to the kingdom and Peter and the other disciples PRAYED and thought and asked God to tell them what to say (key word PRAYED) so it wasnt them making the decisions it was through the Holy Spirit they made those “rules”. This does not empower the Pope to make executive decisions on what people need to be like or act like (outside biblical guidance). You see if the Pope makes a skrew-up and makes a wrong decision think about how many people that causes to sin without them realizing it. This is not a Logical church it is a denomination that gives authority to the Church over the Bible - this is why Martin Luther nailed 95 thesis as to why the Catholic Church was unbiblical. I had it bad today worrying and trying to understand predestination, I think this really helps, I am a melancholic and tend to worry too much about the future or think too much about it instead of living in the present.

The priest is a human being, if he can go to The Lord and get forgiveness of your sins, then you can go straight to The Lord yourself and ask for forgiveness of your sins! People do not need a middle man to seek forgiveness of their sins, The Lord wants us to come directly to HIM, ask for forgiveness and have a personal and intimate relationship with HIM!

True enough it is great to be humble and always remind ourselves of our lowliness and poorness in spirit and the need to ask forgiveness from God for our sinfulness. Thank you for your kind words. I won't reconcile with people who try to destroy others. Of course, I would forgive them, but they never ever would enter my life. We are living in a time where we should be very clear, what attitude is not acceptable. Every violence toward others is not acceptable and can not be forgiven (without punishment). That's my opinion.

if jesus is god, why did he talk about his father and pray to the father? jesus was created by god as well as satan. jesus and god are not the same, it clearly states that in the bible.

I KNOW we all agree on fundamental truths like “the desire to improve the country” “to look out for the safety of our children” and stuff but we are going at it in opposing directions. Then one side looks at the other side like they’re immoral when in reality… most of us have very similar morals because God gave it to us. All of us of any religion.

I have to say, if this is really your view, why wouldn't honoring Mary be in conflict with honoring God? After all, your reference to "attachments" seems to imply that Heaven excludes attachments to many good things that people love, and therefore that a loving relationship with God requires people to exclude from their hearts things that are positive, seemingly just because they're positive, and are therefore in conflict with love of God. Now, if that were the case, how would love of Mary or the saints not also be in conflict and/or competition with love of God? According to Catholic teaching, it's not, but why not? If it's because love of Mary and the saints contributes to love of God, rather than detracting from it, why isn't this the same for any other good thing that people are attached to, like mountains, trees, rivers, animals or art? Is God less involved with or less responsible for those good things than he is for the holiness of the saints? Is there less reason to believe their good and appealing aspects are a gift from him? Are we unable to thank him, even for very simple and sensory experiences? Did God not create those too? On numerous occasions, I've heard people make this claim, then back off from it when challenged, by moving the target from "attachment to a created thing" to "attachment to sin." Please don't do this, as I'll recognize the tactic immediately. Virtually no created thing *is* a sin by itself. Just to clarify, I believe in Catholicism, and I believe in Purgatory, but I think the English word "attachments" is a very poor one to use for describing either venial sin or the temporal punishment due for sin, and if Purgatory is for any other purpose than removing those, I've yet to read the Catholic Church document that authoritatively establishes that.

Having escaped communism 43 years ago to come to America at 14, I am seeing clearly that our society has drifted toward communism under the color flag of wokeism. As an educator in a public school, I am heartbroken to know many of the children don't even stand up when we do the pledge of allegiance and I have been told that we cannot make them. Pray for the conversion of hearts to restore America back to its founding principle of one nation under God, invisible with liberty and justice for all including the unborn. Heaven is not the same thing as God. Heaven (in the sense of the place where saints go after they die) had a beginning and God didn't. Now, all the good things in Heaven derive their goodness from God directly, but the same is true of all the good things here on Earth. It's just not visible to our eyes like it is there.
